- Attested birth certificate
- Aadhaar of the student
- Aadhaar of both parents
- 4 photographs
- Progress card of the last class
- T.C., PEN & APAAR ID from the previous school (where applicable)

Written test & interview
A written test for all classes except Pre-Nursery, usually in the last week of November, on a date announced by the school office. Qualifiers are called for an interaction with parents.
The test may cover, depending on the class:

- G.K.

Admission questions from parents
When does admission for 2027–28 start at H.M. Public School, Ranchi?
Registration is going on now. Registration forms for all classes are available at the school office. After the form is submitted, a written test is held for all classes except Pre-Nursery, usually in the last week of November, on a date announced by the school office. The session begins on 1 April 2027.
Does registration guarantee admission?
No. Registration alone does not guarantee admission. For Nursery and above, admission depends on the written test and the interview with parents. Pre-Nursery admission is direct, subject to the age criteria.
What is the age criteria for Pre-Nursery to Std. I?
As on 31 March of the admission year: Pre-Nursery 2½–3½ years, Nursery 3½–4½ years, Prep 4½–5½ years and Std. I 5½–6½ years. For higher classes, please contact the office.
Which documents are needed?
For Std. I to X: the duly completed admission form, an attested birth certificate (Municipality or C.O. Office, block level), the Aadhaar card of the student and of the father and mother, 4 passport-size photographs, the PEN (Permanent Education Number) and APAAR ID of the student, the progress card of the last class and the original Transfer Certificate of the previous school, where applicable. For Pre-Primary: the birth certificate, Aadhaar cards of the student and both parents, and 4 passport-size photographs. The admission form fee is ₹400.
Is there an admission test?
Yes, for all classes except Pre-Nursery. The written test is held after the admission form is submitted, usually in the last week of November on a date announced by the school office, and may cover English, Hindi, Maths, Science and G.K., depending on the class. Students who qualify are called for an interaction with their parents. Pre-Nursery admission is direct, with no test.
Is there a test for Pre-Nursery admission?
No. Admission to Pre-Nursery is direct, with no admission test. The child should be 2½ to 3½ years old as on 31 March of the admission year.
Is there any special offer for admission 2027–28?
Yes. There is a special offer only for new admissions in the Pre-Primary section (Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Prep) for 2027–28. Please message the school office on WhatsApp (97092 88563) for details.
Can the date of birth be changed after admission?
No. The date of birth once declared will not be changed under any circumstances.
Which board, medium and curriculum does the school follow?
H.M. Public School is an English-medium, co-educational school following a CBSE-pattern curriculum, in Lower Chutia, Ranchi, teaching Pre-Nursery to Class X. Our curriculum is guided by NEP 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
